Jordan: In Pictures / by Krista Boivie

I've been home for exactly two weeks and I thought it was about time I got around to sharing my 10 favorite images of Jordan.

As I've sifted through the images of this trip I've realized how much I've grown as a photographer and as an artist. Ten years ago I took pictures of EVERYTHING, now I am more concerned with trying to find a unique way to preserve what I'm feeling and experiencing. There is no way to fully capture a place in an image, but I hope you enjoy what I've tried to create.

My first peak at the Treasury in Petra. I love the contrast of the two people in this image. One looking forward towards the action, and the other unconcerned with her surroundings. I was taking pictures of other things and almost missed this first peak.

This gentleman was sitting in the square with his friends and was so gracious to let me capture his image. I only wish I could have spent time hearing his story.

The kids were playing on the stairs as we were touring the city and they were SO excited when I asked if I could take their picture. I love the pure joy on their faces.

Sunset after our visit to Petra. I was emotionally and physically exhausted, but I found this moment so breathtaking that I stopped eating dinner to capture this image.
