I have a hard time saying no. It stems from the fact that I don't want to disappoint anyone. (I definitely need to work on the people pleasing side of my personality)
At one of the classes I attended at WPPI this week the presenter stated that her simple and easy way to say no to undesirable clients was to tell them "I wish I could."
I love the phrase "I wish I could." It is so much nicer than just saying no and yet it implies that it is difficult to turn down the request.
My goal is to start implementing this phrase whenever I am about to say yes to an activity or project that I don't really want to do and see if it makes it easier to say no.
Do you struggle with saying turning people down? Do you have an effective and easy strategy to say no?
